2 Steps Forward, 1 Step Back

That's completely how I feel in regards to Potty Training.  Kathryn will have 2 great days, then get "lazy".  She constantly needs to be reminded to go potty and it's so frustrating.  Especially given that she is almost FOUR years old.  It's a complete lack of care on her end to just get up and go do it.  She'd rather play in peed in pants than get up and go.  Her poor skin is sensitive to moisture so she's breaking out into rashes.  I just don't understand at all.  I mentioned to our Dr that maybe, just maybe she has some physiological explanation for this (constipation) but she says it's relatively normal.

I suppose that's true to a point.  My first was staying dry before she was 3, Aiden was 2 1/2 but Allyson was almost 4 before she even got the concept down.  That was one long week with her!!!!!! Evan was almost 4 before he finally got the entire concept and stopped pooping in the toy room or in Tonka Dump Trucks outside.  Maybe my frustration is that I've been consistently changing diapers for 14 1/2 years. No breaks...always changing diapers.

Because she's lazy (at least as far as I can tell) she does lose some things she loves the most.  TV at bed time.  Don't freak, it's just 5 minutes post bath time to help her settle down. She knows she loses this and yet she still won't just "go". She always tells me she's "empty".  LOL  But is she "really"?  That is the question. The part that pains me the most is that you can ask her "What will happen if you wet your panties?" and she knows the answer.  She can verbalize it 110% but still wets her pants.

I will be printing up a calendar to put stars on the days she stays dry with a prize at the end of the week just for her.  I remind her to go.  But I don't know what else I can do and I'm at my whits end.
